FNESA/Ishkoday is seeking interested individuals for an employment opportunity for a 2-year contract. This position requires an individual with knowledge of Energy Assistance Programs in the province of Ontario. This position will work with Ishkoday members to enhance their understanding of available energy efficiency, housing and other programs that might alleviate energy poverty within the province of Ontario. They will assist with planning and delivering of in-person training programs to low income First Nations individuals and First Nations Administrators and support staff. A solid work ethic and the ability for travel is a must.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post secondary education; preferably in environmental science or business administration
- Proficiency and knowledge of computer, software applications
- Experience delivering training to adults, including thru virtual platforms and other technology platforms that support online training.
- Experience running in-person and virtual meetings.
- Working knowledge of legislation, regulations, policies and procedures for the environmental/energy/construction sector.
- Effective verbal, presentation, written and listening communications skills.
- Must be able to complete work in the home office, in the field and in the community
- Knowledge of social media platforms
- 2 years experience training in a First Nation community; OR 5 years experience working in Ontario Works or Social assistance office.
- Asset: Certified Energy Manager would be an asset.
PARTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver training curriculum and various energy efficiency packages, thru in-person and onsite support and virtual platform environments
- Facilitate meetings in conjunction with First Nation Ontario Works Programs, Housing Programs and other stakeholders to discuss available energy efficiency programs and how to best make them work for the First Nations communities and low-income clients.
- Deliver/facilitate training material(s) to First Nation social service staff and stakeholders, and low-income clients.
- Research and interpret legislation, government policies and trends, and provide recommendations regarding energy efficiency program delivery as it relates to Indigenous communities
- Communication and develop outreach processes when providing support to First Nations,
- Plan, coordinate and execute of training, targets and reports,
- Contribute ideas and recommendations for improvement of Ishkoday services and products,
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of regional sessions,
