ONWAA is currently seeking qualified and motivated individuals
for an exciting opportunity within our organization. The ideal candidate
will possess a strong understanding of Income Assistance programs
as they are delivered within First Nations communities. This role
involves supporting the research, development, and delivery of training
programs, both in-person and via virtual platforms, for First Nations
Administrators and support staff. A solid work ethic, strong
communication skills, and the ability to travel is required.
POSITION TITLE: Coach/Trainer (contract covering maternity leave)
REPORTING TO: Training Associate Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
ONWAA research’s, plans, and delivers a full suite of training, mentorship and leadership products designed to assist learners with professional development and growth mainly in the area of social assistance programs. This position requires an individual with knowledge of adult learning principles and experience in the education of Indigenous adults. This position requires an individual with knowledge of human service programs being delivered on-reserve (ex. Homemakers, Income Assistance, etc.). This position requires learning, further developing and delivering curriculum thru an Indigenous lens to various stakeholder groups. A solid work ethic and the ability for travel is a must.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Proficiency and knowledge of computer, and software applications, including the use of virtual platforms including Teams, Webex and other technology platforms that support online training.
· Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite.
· Excellent written and oral skills.
· Ability to facilitate group processes and on-on-one sessions.
· Ability to ensure good public relations with stakeholders, including the appreciation of the need for confidentiality, tact and discretion.
· Post secondary education; preferably in social work, sociology, health services or adult education will be considered an asset.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop training curriculum and various social assistance related training packages.
· Learn, plan, deliver/facilitate training material(s) to First Nation social service staff and stakeholders, through in-person and virtual platform environments, meeting expected targets.
· Conduct on-going training needs assessments, and facilitate program questionnaires to summarize individual and community training needs.
· Assist with coordination and delivery of group workshops and training sessions, as delegated by the Manager.
· Communicate and outreach to provide support to stakeholders.
· Research and interpret social assistance legislation, government policies and trends, and provide recommendations on curriculum changes required to keep current as they relate to Indigenous communities.
· Maintain awareness of new social assistance regulations, delivery policies and best practices.
· Mid-term and final reporting of all training initiatives, including keeping statistics; developing training reports to summarize training, identify issues and provide recommendations to enhance service delivery.
· Follow-up on recommendations to normalize delivered onsite support and training.
· Contribute to ONWAA’s help desk.
· Maintain proper filing system.
· Assist with the development of stakeholder policies, procedures and processes related to the delivery of social assistance programs and services.
· Coordinate and document calendar of training, product development and administration duties.
· Submit detailed travel and expense logs.
· Contribute ideas and recommendations for improvement of ONWAA services and products.
· Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
· Attend various meetings as directed by supervisor.
· Carry out duties and responsibilities as outlined in ONWAA’s Personal Policy.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Home Office – independent work, subject to hard deadlines and frequent check-ins.
· Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm or condensed workweek arrangements are available, however, work may be subject to unusual and unscheduled hours.
· Travel is required to remote locations to attend various events and training activities.

RENUMERATION: $61237.40 - $66898.00
This is a contract position until March 31, 2026, with possibiltity of extension of up to 1 year.
