Ontario Works Directives Training - Winnipeg

Please join us for a comprehensive 2.5 day training session focused on Ontario Works (OW) policy directives and program updates. This event is designed for all OW Frontline Staff, Administrators and other professionals involved in the delivery of Ontario Works within First Nations. 

In this session participants will learn how to complete program intakes, process and calculate assistance, determine and monitor eligibility, mandatory and discretionary benefits, how to support participation and meet program standards according to the Ontario Works Act and policy directives. An overview of policy changes and updates will be provided, and participants will have opportunity to analyze policies and participate in group discussions and share best practices on exercising administrators discretion. The training will include interactive workshops, real-world case studies, and opportunities for cross-regional collaboration. Key topics will include eligibility assessments, employment assistance strategies, compliance and accountability, and client-centered service approaches.
